The AutonomouStuff team attended two major events in March: Tech.AD in Berlin and Nvidia GPU Technology Conference in Silicon Valley. If you missed us at either of those events, you can catch up with us at several events we plan to attend all over the world throughout the spring and summer.
AutonomouStuff Director of Sales and Business Development for Europe Marco Reiling and Marketing Associate Jessica Crofts helped kick off Tech.AD Berlin with a special driving demonstration.
Driving Day 2019 featured an AutonomouStuff Lexus RX450h automated research development vehicle with the latest sensors and software. The event lasted all afternoon before the official kickoff of the conference and was quickly booked. It may have been a dreary day outside, but it was a chance for all those who attended to catch a glimpse of the latest tech and see an AutonomouStuff car in action.
The AutonomouStuff team turned out in a big way for GTC 2019 in Silicon Valley to announce the new partnership with Designated Driver.
AutonomouStuff is the first customer for the new service, which adds a human safety backstop to autonomous vehicles through teleoperation — giving someone with Designated Driver remote control of a vehicle when an autonomous system encounters a situation foreign to the software.
The GTC demonstration included a Designated Driver teleoperator in Portland, Oregon, taking remote control of an automated vehicle on the event grounds in San Jose, California. The system repeated several successful demonstrations with low latency over that 700-mile span between cities over the course of the conference.
