Software Support Engineer

Morton, Illinois

What you will do:

  • Develop a deep understanding of a variety of hardware and software products
  • Use internal issue tracking and ticketing systems to resolve complex client issues all over the world
  • Create internal and customer-facing technical documentation
  • Work hands-on setting up and troubleshooting Linux computers, autonomous vehicle sensors, data storage and software systems (both on bench tops and in vehicles)
  • Assist with marketing and sales demonstrations, when appropriate
  • Follow documented validation processes and procedures
  • Architect complex autonomous systems including; calculating data throughput, computing storage requirements and power draws
  • Train internal employees and external clients on complex autonomous products
  • Communicate technical bulletins and manage customer rollout of critical software or firmware updates
  • Occasionally travel on-site to clients to provide world class support

What we want to see:

  • Experience programming with C, C++, or Python
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet, CAN and other serial interface protocols
  • Understanding of Linux/Ubuntu
  • Experience working with various sensor technologies
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and troubleshooting skills
  • Extensive experience working directly with customers and internal teams
  • Professional, self-motivated, detail oriented
  • Passion for providing world class customer support

How to stand out from the crowd:

  • 5+ years experience using ROS
  • 5+ years working with C, C++, Python
  • Direct experience in the Autonomy industry
