Computer Vision Engineer

AutonomouStuff is searching for hands-on experienced computer vision engineers, focused on machine learning algorithms used for mobile autonomous applications on hardened embedded production hardware. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining a core set of reference algorithms using thermal and color machine vision cameras, Lidar, and radar sensors that run on hardened compute modules. The reference algorithms created by this team will be used both by our internal application development teams as well as customers to be deployed in production autonomous systems.

What you will do:

  • Develop embedded computer vision and deep learning algorithms for autonomous mobility applications and deploy on hardened production-grade hardware.
  • Program directly in embedded Linux and perform embedded GPU optimization
  • Write C++ algorithms used to process data from any computer vision sensor (color or thermal machine vision cameras, lidar, radar)
  • Work with task tracking tools such as JIRA. Update tasks regularly. Work well with the larger team
  • Provide input to best practices for optimization and deployment of core machine vision algorithms onto hardened production-grade hardware
  • Work with engineering managers as needed to approve technical content in quote language and statement of work documents
  • Provide engineering level customer support as needed to ensure world-class customer experience
  • Report project status to technical leadership as needed
  • Travel to customer sites as needed when deploying software updates or the latest delivery, typically less than 20%

What we want to see:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • Experience writing software solving challenges with advanced perception algorithms for real-world applications involving high levels of software engineering expertise.
  • Strong experience optimizing machine vision algorithms
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

How to stand out from the crowd:

  • Direct experience with the Nvidia Xavier chipset or Driveworks SDK
  • Direct experience optimizing machine vision algorithms for embedded applications used in production applications
  • Masters degreeĀ or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • 5+ years experience working wit computer vision algorithms
  • Proven track record of deploying optimized solutions in production applications
